Note:
You may be riding on an abandoned railbed; expect
a wide range of surface conditions, from hard packed
gravel to loose, unconsolidated railway ballast.
This trail is generally unsuitable for street bikes,
and will require a bike with wider tires for soft

Victoria,
the "City of Gardens" is located on the southern
tip of Vancouver Island and offers a full range of recreational
activities. The capital city of British Columbia and a world-renowned
tourism destination, Victoria boasts one of Canada's mildest
climates. More than 300,000 people live in the Greater Victoria
area. The city is easily accessible via car/passenger ferry
service or air service from Vancouver and Seattle.
One of
the recreational highlights of Victoria is the Galloping Goose
Regional Trail, which moves through urban, rural and wilderness
settings from downtown Victoria to Sooke. This route is nearly
60 kilometres long and runs along a former rail line. Actively
used by cyclists, walkers and horseback riders, the Galloping
Goose Regional Trail is managed by the Capital Regional District
(CRD) Parks Department. Check the CRD website for complete
route details and maps at www.crd.bc.ca/parks/parkgse.htm
